What are tags?
Tags are labels that allow you to highlight features of the rooms or packages, or of the establishment itself in a clear and quick way. With these tags, customers can see at a glance what each option includes without having to read long descriptions.
How does it work?
In the booking engine, each room will display small tags under its name. These can include tags such as ‘Sea view’, ‘Pets allowed’, ‘Breakfast included’ or any other special service or feature that the room offers. This new way of presenting information makes it easier for customers to find exactly what they are looking for and significantly improves the browsing and booking experience.
How do I configure a new tag?
From the Witbooking backoffice itself in Settings > Tag management we will see that all the inventory will be loaded, and we will have the tags available for the establishment info (it will appear with the engine ticker) and for each of the accommodations created:
To start creating the tags, go to Create tags by Excel and Download Excel File:
Once exported, we will have the following document:
ticker_tag | name_es | action |
Inside ticker_tag we will have to introduce the identifier that we want to give to that tag (it is something internal that will be saved in the database, that is to say, the client will not see it in the booking engine, and it must be without spaces, hyphens or accents).
Name_es will be the name we want to be visible in the tag, and we will get as many columns as languages we have active, there is a maximum of 255 characters per tag translation.
And finally, the action row will be used to delete a tag if we want with the word ‘Eliminar’.
Once we have the tags generated and we import the document always in Excel format, we will get one of the following two messages:
Saved OK → Green message with the copy ‘Update successful’ / ‘Update successful’.
Saved KO → Red message with the copy ‘Cannot save’ / ‘Update fail’.
Depending on whether an error occurred during the upload.
Linking tags to rooms:
Once I have loaded the Excel with all the tags I want to use, I go to the main tag manager where all the rooms are listed and I edit with the pencil icon, in the actions column, and add the tags I want within each room.
Once you click on save, you will see the tags activated in the booking engine.
