In the “My Account” section of the Loyalty program, a new feature called Preference Management has been added.
This enhancement allows loyal customers to indicate their preferences (beach, mountain, city, pool, gastronomy, etc.) directly within their account. This provides hotels with a key tool to design more personalized and effective marketing campaigns, ultimately boosting customer satisfaction and loyalty.
How are preferences displayed?
To view preferences, follow these steps:
Access a booking engine with Loyalty enabled.
Log in to the loyalty system.
Click on “My Account.”
At the bottom of the page, you’ll find the “Preferences” manager.
How does a customer select their preferences?
To select preferences, the customer should:
Click on “Edit.”
A pop-up will open where they can select their preferences.
Click “Confirm.”
Click “Save” to update the information.
Note: If the customer accesses the loyalty system for the first time and clicks on “My Account,” the pop-up will open automatically without needing to click “Edit.”
How to configure preferences from the Back Office
To configure preferences:
Make sure the booking engine is linked to a Brand; otherwise, preferences cannot be configured.
Go to Clients → Preference Management.
In the Preference Management screen, you need to create two elements: sections and preferences (tags).
Example:
Section – Places
Preferences (tags) – Beach, Mountain, City...
How to create a section
When entering the Preference Management area, you’ll see a list of all existing sections.
In the “Actions” column, you can edit, reorder, or delete a section. Note that the order shown in the Back Office will be the same order that appears on the customer front-end.
To create a new section:
Click “Create Section.”
A screen will open where you must fill out the following information:
Ticker: Section ticker
Link Preferences: Link the preferences (tags) that should be included in this section. The order selected here determines how they will appear on the front-end.
Name: The name of the section that will appear on the customer front-end.
Description: A description of the section, also visible on the front-end.
Once everything is complete, click “Save.” The newly created section will appear in the summary table.
How to create a preference (tag)
To create preferences:
Go to Clients → Preference Management → Loyalty Preferences List.
This will bring you to the Loyalty Preferences List screen, where you can see all previously created tags. These tags can then be linked to the previously created sections.
Preferences can be edited or deleted. Note that deleting a tag will automatically remove it from all sections it was linked to.
To create a new preference:
Click “Create New” and fill out the following fields:
Ticker: The tag’s ticker
Icon: Tag icon (optional)
Name: The name displayed on the front-end
Description: Tag description (not visible on front-end)
Once completed, click “Save.” The new tag will appear in the summary table.
You can also create tags via Excel:
Go to Clients → Preference Management → Loyalty Preferences List → Create Preferences via Excel.
Download the template. The document includes the following fields:
Ticker_tag: ID of the preference
Name_es: Preference name in Spanish
Name_en: Preference name in English (and all other languages configured in the engine)
Action: Since we’re creating, leave this blank.
Once filled out, upload the file and click Import Excel File to finalize.
Finally, all required tags should be created and linked to their corresponding sections.
As a hotelier, can I manually link preferences to a user?
Yes. To manually add preferences to a user:
Go to Clients → Client List.
Search for the user you want to update.
In the “Actions” column, click Edit.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the Preferences section. Click the pencil icon and select the desired preferences.
Be sure to click Save to correctly update the data.
