Mapping possibilities in Siteminder

Below we summarize the existing mapping possibilities for connectivity between the Witbooking and Siteminder systems:

• Map only parent lines

 Only those lines configured as "own" in the Witbooking inventory table should be mapped. They can be own by rate or by availability.

Advantage: Fewer lines will need to be mapped and it will be easier to manage.

Disadvantage: Reservations registered on child lines in Witbooking will be displayed in the Siteminder extranet with the occupancy, condition, and rate of the parent line. If reservations are transferred from the Channel Manager to the PMS, the displayed information may not reflect reality in terms of occupancy, condition, and rate.

• Map parent and child lines

The activation of the child line parameter must be requested from Witbooking and all inventory mapped, regardless of whether the lines are parent or child. 

Advantage: The Witbooking system will send complete reservation information to Siteminder for both parent and child lines.

Disadvantage: All inventory lines must be mapped. If the parameter is activated but all lines are not mapped when a child line reservation is registered, Siteminder will notify an error and the reservation will not deduct availability from the inventory.
