How to accumulate promotions

Modified on Tue, 14 Apr at 12:35 PM

In this manual we detail the steps to create accumulative promotions in the booking engine.

Promotions must be created in the usual way by accessing the Inventory > Promotions / Highlights section following the instructions in the following manual: How to create a promotion?

Promotion Group Accumulation

The system allows promotions to be organized into groups, which determine how they are applied and whether they can be combined.

Available number of groups

By default, the system allows the creation of up to 3 promotion groups.
If you need additional groups, please contact the Support Department to request their activation.

Promotion creation

  • All promotions must be created within a group.
  • If no group is specified, promotions are created by default in Group 1

Rules within the same group

  • Promotions that belong to the same group cannot be combined with each other.
  • If multiple promotions from the same group are applicable for the same dates, the system will automatically apply the promotion that provides the greatest discount or benefit.

Accumulation between different groups

  • In order for promotions to be accumulative, they must belong to different groups.
  • Only promotions from different groups can be combined.
  • Promotions within the same group are never accumulated.

Date-based application

Promotion accumulation is applied per stay date, not per reservation.
This means that, within the same reservation, promotions from the same group may be applied as long as they do not overlap on the same stay dates.

Example 1:

  • Promotion 1 / 10% --> Group 1

  • Promotion 2 / 20% --> Group 2

  • Promotion 3 / 30% --> Group 3

In this case all 3 promotions will apply as they are in different groups.

The discounts will be added together and a discount of 60% will be applied.

Example 2:

  • Promotion 1 / 10% --> Group 1

  • Promotion 2 / 20% --> Group 1

  • Promotion 3 / 30% --> Group 3

In this case, promotions 2 and 3 will apply.

Promotion 1 will not apply as it is in the same group as promotion 2 and has a lower discount.

The discounts of promotions 2 and 3 will be added together and a 50% discount will be applied.

Example 3:

  • Promotion 1 / 10% --> Group 1

  • Promotion 2 / 20% --> Group 1

  • Promotion 3 / 30% --> Group 1

In this case only promotion 3 applies.

As they are all in the same group, promotion 3 applies as it offers the highest discount.

The discount applied will be 30%.
