Integration with Google Analytics

Here are the steps to integrate with Google Analytics 4:

As we informed you on March 28, on July 1, 2023, Google will discontinue the current version of Google Analytics (Universal Analytics - UA), which means it will stop collecting data.

This is a radical paradigm shift in how visits and reservations are tracked, requiring you to configure a new Google Analytics account (GA4). We advise that if there is no one in your organization who is thoroughly familiar with Google Analytics, you should hire a specialized agency to advise you, as Google has increased the sophistication and complexity of the tool.

Instructions for configuring GA4

In this document you will find the basic instructions for configuring a new GA4 account, the three container variables to import: JSON without consent mode, JSON with basic Consent Mode and JSON with advanced Consent Mode (for correct tag execution, user consent preferences must have been collected. For this, it is highly recommended to use a cookie banner management tool and configure tag execution accordingly)  to generate the GTM (Google Tag Manager) and for your information, the list of variables that the new version of the engine will send to the dataLayer for your GTM to collect.

Who will perform this configuration?

It is not Witbooking's responsibility to perform this configuration of your GA4 account, nor to provide support for this tool, which is completely unrelated to the engine. Witbooking has never performed this configuration when setting up new engines; the establishment simply indicated in the engine the Google Analytics account to which access to data (UA-XXXXX) was permitted, but the configuration was always the establishment's responsibility.

This migration must be carried out by the establishment or, failing that, by the marketing agency they usually collaborate with. Witbooking can put establishments that request it in touch with marketing agencies that know the Witbooking engine, so that they can perform the GA4 configuration.

This contract will be totally independent of and external to Witbooking

Website data

It is important to remind you that this GTM, once configured, will only collect data from your engine in GA4. Your website's navigation data and any Facebook or Google pixels you may have will need to be reconfigured separately by your analytics agency in this new GA4 account.
