How to configure a promotion protected by a promotional code

In this manual, we detail the steps to configure a promotion protected by a promotional code, which can be of two types:

1. Unlimited Use Code

To configure a promotion protected by an unlimited use promotional code, as long as the defined promotion criteria are met, follow these steps:

Go to Inventory > Promotions/Featured > Create New:

• Configure the promotion with the relevant parameters.
• Under the Promotional Code section, select "Universal Code" from the dropdown menu and enter the corresponding code.

Once the code is entered in the booking engine form, the promotion will be activated and displayed on the right-hand side of the booking engine.

2. Limited Use Promotional Code

This feature allows you to create promotional codes that can be redeemed a limited number of times. You can also define an expiration date after which the code will no longer be valid.

The common use cases for promotions are as follows:

• Single-use promotional code → For a customer loyalty program that grants a unique discount to a specific user.
• Code-based promotion limited to a specific number of bookings → For example, an exclusive discount for the first 30 users who make a booking.

To configure a promotion that limits code usage, you must first create a promotion as usual via Inventory > Promotions/Featured > Save. (How to create a promotion?)

Single-use Promotional Code

Once the promotion is created, navigate to the Single-Use Code tab:

1. Click on the Promotional Codes link to automatically download an Excel file, where the codes should be uploaded.

2. The document contains the following columns to be filled out as follows:

   • Promotional Code → Enter the code in lowercase, without spaces or special characters.
   • Expiration Date → Enter the date in the format YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., 2019-12-31).

Each code must be entered on a separate row with its corresponding expiration date.

After filling out the fields row by row and column by column, save the document and upload it by clicking the Choose File option, which will allow you to upload the latest version of the document.

Code-based Promotion Limited to a Specific Number of Bookings

To configure this, enter the same promotional code in the Excel file as many times as the code can be redeemed (one row per redemption).
