How to configure predefined cancellation policies

Modified on Tue, 15 Apr at 4:22 PM

This manual details the steps to configure advanced cancellation policies using the options that are already pre-defined in the booking engine.

If you access the Configuration --> Cancellation Policies section you will be able to view and edit the cancellation policies that are pre-created in the system. These are detailed below:

  • Non-Refundable → This policy has a 100% penalty in case of cancellation.

  • FreeCancellation → This policy has a 100% penalty if cancelled less than 1 day in advance.

To configure and link these cancellation policies to existing rates, the following steps must be followed:

1) If you need to modify the free cancellation notice, go to Settings --> Cancellation Policies, edit the FreeCancellation policy by clicking on the pencil icon.

A window with the settings will open, click on the pencil icon in the "Constraints" section.

The "Constraints " field should be edited and the value of the field should be edited to indicate the days before check in that the penalty will start to apply:

2) Go to Inventory --> Define Inventory --> Conditions and edit each rate. Once in the conditions editing interface, link the rate to the corresponding cancellation policy.

Below is an example of the Free Cancellation rate:

3) Go to Settings --> Behavior and enable the Show Elements --> Online cancellation deadline field.

4) Go to the reservation frontend and check that the information is reflected correctly:
