How to create a code-protected promotion

In this manual, we detail the steps to configure a promotion protected by a promo code, which can be of two types: 

• Unlimited use code.
• Limited use code. 

1. Unlimited use code

To configure a promotion protected by an unlimited use promo code, as long as the promotion's defined criteria are met, go to Inventory > Promotions/Highlights > Create new:

• Configure the promotion with the corresponding parameters
• In the Promo code > section, select "Universal Code" from the dropdown and enter the corresponding code. 

So that when the code is entered in the engine's form, the promotion will be released and displayed on the right side of the booking engine. 

2. Limited use promotional code

This functionality allows you to create promotional codes that the user can redeem a limited number of times. It will also allow defining an expiration date for the code, after which it will no longer be valid. 

The usual use cases for promotions are as follows: 

• Single-use promo code → customer area / loyalty that grants a unique discount to a specific user.
• Promotion by code limited to a specific number of bookings → exclusive discount for the first 30 users to make a booking. 

To configure a promotion limiting the use of codes, you must first create a promotion in the usual way from Inventory > Promotions / Highlights > Save. (How to create a promotion?)

Single-use promo code:

Once the promotion is created, you must access the Single-use code tab: 

First, you must click on the Promotional codes link, which will automatically download an Excel file where you should upload the codes.

The document contains the following columns that must be filled in as follows: 

• Promo code → Must be entered in lowercase, without spaces or special characters.
• Expiration date →  Must be entered in YYYY-MM-DD format (2019-12-31). 

One code must be entered per row, indicating its expiration date.

The fields must be filled in separately by row and column and, after saving the document, it must be uploaded by clicking on the "Choose file" option, which will allow you to upload the latest version of the document. 

Promotion by code limited to a specific number of bookings

The same code must be entered in the Excel sheet in as many rows as times it can be redeemed.
