Modified on Wed, 23 Sep at 4:41 PM

The following article describes the steps that must be taken to configure PayPal as a payment method in the booking engine.

1. Create a business account on PayPal. Paypal requires these types of accounts to be able to receive payments and remove money reception restrictions.

2. Log in to your PayPal account

3. Click on Profile --> Account Settings

Products and Services --> Website Payments --> API Access --> Update

Once we click on "Update", this screen will appear to configure PayPal APIs in the booking engine (your website) and in the upper right corner, a box for "PayPal Checkout Configuration".

Next, we select the default field "Accept PayPal payments" and "submit".

On the initial dashboard, this image is displayed to configure PayPal Checkout, and we can start configuring by clicking on "Select integration type".

We select "With Programming" and then, the "Standard" option.

Upon obtaining Standard, we will be provided with the credentials we will need to complete in the booking engine: the API Key and the Client ID. Always in "LIVE" MODE

If we select "advanced", we will be asked to confirm more details about our account/company, but we will have more options with PayPal.

Once everything is configured, we will also obtain the keys to configure PayPal in the booking engine. Always the ones that appear in "LIVE" mode

The route to obtain these credentials is this: https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/applications/live

We will have to log in and we will be able to access the keys whenever necessary.

With these credentials, we will go to the Back Office of the engine, in the Settings manager --> Payment Methods, and we will select PayPal. We will edit by entering the key details and selecting a deposit amount.

Upon completing the reservation, the customer will have the option to pay via PayPal:
