Automatic registration in the loyalty program.

This new feature simplifies customer enrollment in the loyalty program when making a reservation through the booking engine.


The automatic registration allows users to automatically register for the loyalty program during the booking process. This removes additional steps such as requiring a separate registration process and email confirmation, thereby greatly enhancing the user experience.


What are the advantages?

  • Reduced friction: Guests are automatically registered in the loyalty program upon booking, without the need for a separate process.
  • Increased conversion: Improves both booking conversion rates and loyalty program sign-ups.
  • Personalization for Call Centers: Simplifies the registration process for agents, eliminating the need to guide customers through multiple steps.
  • Greater flexibility: Offers different operating modes to adapt to the client’s needs.


Types or States

The automatic registration offers three main modes depending on the desired configuration:

  • Disabled State: The booking engine operates in the traditional way without applying the automatic registration feature.

  • OPT_OUT: In this mode, when entering the booking engine, the loyalty discount is automatically applied, and the customer directly sees the discounted rate for members. However, the customer must explicitly accept the terms and conditions to join the loyalty program during the booking process.

  • OPT_IN: The customer must explicitly agree to join the loyalty program during checkout. The discounted rate is not shown unless the user consents to join the club.



Banners

  • Banner that appears in OPT_OUT mode after selecting accommodation: The banner appears in OPT_OUT mode after selecting the room and rate.

  • Banner that appears at Checkout in both OPT_OUT and OPT_IN modes.

  • Banner that appears when attempting to join the loyalty club using the automatic resgistration with an email already registered in the club.


How do we configure the automatic registration?


Activation upon request: Contact our support department to activate the mode that best suits your needs. Email: soporte@witbooking.com


Activation via URL: You can also activate the automatic registration via the "book_and_join_type" parameter in the URL, useful for Call Centers or special configurations. This method is ideal for clients who offer non-monetary benefits at the time of registration and discounts starting from the second booking. It allows for a more efficient configuration for Call Center agents.

  • OPT_OUT Mode: &book_and_join_type=OPT_OUT
  • OPT_IN Mode: &book_and_join_type=OPT_IN

Additional Details:

  • Acceptance process: In opt-out mode, even though the customer sees the loyalty rate, they must explicitly agree to the terms to join the program during checkout.


  • Temporary users: A temporary user is created in the database until the reservation is successfully completed. If the booking is not completed, the temporary user is automatically deleted every hour to avoid data buildup with invalid information.


  • Temporary password for new users: Users are created with a temporary password. When attempting to log in, they will receive an email to update their password.


  • Verification flow: If a customer tries to register with an email already associated with the program, they will be prompted to log in instead of creating a new account.


  • Welcome email: After a successful booking, the customer receives a welcome email to the loyalty program. This email can be adjusted to include additional details or instructions.
