At Witbooking, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your guests' information.
To comply with data protection regulations and ensure user security against attacks like phishing, we have implemented a new security measure that hides sensitive information in our extranet.
This functionality applies to certain sections of the system, where personal data such as surnames, ID numbers, phone numbers, and emails are replaced by masked characters (e.g., "*@**.com").
What changes will you find?
From now on, some booking data will be masked with asterisks, both in the individual and expanded booking lists, in the booking details, in the customer list (Loyalty System), and in the booking history.
This applies to all sensitive customer information, ensuring safer data handling.
How to view unmasked data?
If you need access to the full data of a booking or customer, you can click on the paper plane icon. The data will be sent to the email address associated with the user, without being displayed directly on the screen. This option is available to all users with access to these sections, regardless of their role or permissions.
Data Download:
- Standard users: Can download files with masked data.
- Users with the "unmasked" role: Can export unmasked data via a specific button. These reports are sent by email, with no direct download option.
Security Measures:
- Query limit: A limit of 5 requests per minute/user/IP is enforced both in the back office and the booking engine to prevent abuse.
- Query log: Each access request is logged, allowing tracking of who accesses the data.
