At Witbooking, we commit to protect the privacy and security of your information about your guests.
To comply with data protection regulations and ensure user safety against attacks, such as phishing, we have implemented a new security measure that hides sensitive information in our extranet.
This functionality applies to certain sections of the system, where personal data such as last names, ID documents, phone numbers, and email addresses are replaced with hidden characters (example: "*@**.com").
What changes will you find?
From now on, some reservation data will be displayed masked with asterisks, both in the individual and expanded reservation list, in the reservation details, in the client list (Loyalty System) and in the reservation history.
This applies to all sensitive client information, ensuring more secure data handling.
How to view unmasked data?
If you need to access the full data of a reservation or client, you can click on the paper airplane icon. The data will be sent to the email address associated with the user, without being displayed directly on the screen. This option is available to all users with access to these sections, regardless of their role or permissions.
Data Download:
- Standard users: Can download files with masked data.
- Users with the "unmasked" role: Can perform exports of unmasked data via a specific button. These reports are sent by email, with no direct download option.
Security Measures:
- Query Limit: A limit of 5 requests per minute/user/IP is set, both in the backoffice and in the engine, to prevent abuse.
- Query Logging: Every access request is logged, allowing for tracking of who accesses the data.
If you need the "unmasked” role for your user, you can request our support team to enable this permission.
This measure reinforces our commitment to protecting the privacy and security of information at every stage of the booking process, providing peace of mind to both you and your guests.
